As a follow up to the trade protocol signed between the Russian Federation and India, the Federal Services for Veterinary and Phytosanitory Surveillance (FSVPS), the Russian agency that regulates the imports of food products, announced the list of companies getting export permission. The Russian agency and the Export Inspection Council of India (EIC) signed the memorandum of understanding for inspection of seafood.

Under the MOU, the EIC guarantees that the Indian companies have met all the quality standards. The EIC would be responsible for periodical inspection of processing plants, vessels and cold storages. FSVPS would have the right to conduct random quality inspection.
